Does it hurt?
Why do they come back?
I will put it under my pillow for the Tooth Fairy.
Um, where did he learn about the Tooth Fairy? His first one came out on the way to Kusadasi. He was so surprised and proud. He had us call Zuleyha in Ankara and Babanne in Kusdadasi right away to tell them.
His second one was so loose tonight he wanted me to pull it with a string. I'm not sure where he learned that one either - maybe I did tell him absently amidst all his questions - but that didn't mean I wanted to do it.
"Don't worry mom. It doesn't hurt. Just pull fast."
"But what if it hurst a little bit."
"It won't."
"It might."
"Mom! Just do it."
And so, I was cajoled into tying a string around his tiny baby tooth. It took at least ten minutes to get it around that tooth. I had the iPad on to video it, and FaceTime on so Tolga could be a part of it too. Teoman sat patiently, Tuana got her nose in the middle of everything trying to get the phone to talk to Baba, and Tomris jumped the chair as well, not wanting to be left out.
The first attempt I didn't knot the string so it just came untied. The second time, in my excitement, I forgot to press record. I pulled up spastically and didn't consider I might loose the tooth that way - but it came easily. Teoman admitted later that it hurt a little, and told me today he wouldn't do it again ... exactly what I was afraid of .. it was pretty loose, but bled a lot too. My poor baby.
