Family life

While Tolga's work often takes him away overnight and through weekends, he does get some of this time back by earning days-in-lieu - paid day's off within the work week.  This would be an even better trade off if Tolga could pile up these days so we could take a 3-4 week holiday in the summer, but it doesn't quite work that way.  Thus, Tolga found himself pressured into taking three days off this week.  We would have liked to use those days for a trip to Kusadasi or Istanbul - but instead the kids got sick, and our Istanbul relatives came to visit us - and our days were filled together anyhow.

We have been looking at cars these days.  We've been talking about it since before I was even pregnant with Tuana.  Which cars are wide enough to fit three car seats across?  Currently, we are cramming three car seats into our SEAT Leon in a manner that probably nullifies all the car and car seat's safety features.  We were talking about selling our car and buying a larger one after the summer, but Tolga's spent a lot of his time looking at cars these days and has been taking me to dealerships since Tuana was born.  (He wanted to stop at one one the way home from the hospital).

It's hard for me to focus on cars though - Tuana has taken up most of my brain space.  I don't even remember which dealerships we went too - just Toyota because she had a blow out, I changed her in a meeting room on a meeting room table, and then nursed her in a fellow-pregnant-woman's office.  I love fellow pregnant women and new mothers - we all get each other.  It's a club.

Teoman and Tomris have been sick.  Colds I guess - stuffy noses, and Teoman was throwing up the day before.  He'd been complaining of stomach ache all day, and by night time vomited - but I guessed it was from the mucous in his belly.  They were at home, sleeping, but not resting well and so both were quite the handful at night with their highs and lows in matters of seconds.  They didn't sleep early either, too excited about our relatives coming the next day.

- she smiled and lay in Tuana's
basket.
My plan was to prepare everything tonight so I could just stick things in the oven when it was time to eat or snack the next day.  I made lasagna, cookie dough, herb biscuit dough, strawberry pie filling, and blueberry cake dough.  It's going to be a late night.
