new car, friends, and a box

our new car!

Tolga came on Tuesday, the same day my friend's came - but it's still taken this many days for me to remember to take a picture of our new car.  So here it is - a 2016 Toyota Verso bought for 79K lire - we will start payments on it 6 months ... if all goes well.  I am really happy with this car because 1) it's fun to have new and shiny things, 2) it smells like a new car, and 3) oh yeah, the kids fit safely i the middle row (a fact that I can't quite be proud of yet as we have been cramming the car full with our friends and kids and friends' kids).

We have also been to busy to work on our book case - so we finally worked on it today.  Actually, I started it with Gokhan, then got pulled to other tasks, and then five hours later - he finished it.  (I think he took a lot of tea breaks).  

Lamacucan - "turkish pizza" and Ayran for dinner

My Aunt ordered lamahcun - a thin Turkish pizza-type food for lunch as a treat, and later my friends came over to see our house.  It was a lot more difficult serving them with Zuleyha gone.  They were already sick of hotel food.  We simply had tea and snacks though, and the kids ran around like crazy.  This was the first day I started thinking it wasn't so good having all our kids together.  My friend Paula's kids are cute and nice - but they don't listen to their parents - they got quite wild so I kicked them off the terrace giving them a big box to play with in the garden.  

Oh the fun that can be had with a box...
